"Compendium of Materia Medica" is a Chinese medicine ancient by canon. It is the writings of the ancient Chinese pharmacy in the history of the largest, most comprehensive pharmacy. Edited by Ming Li, Yu Wanli six years (1578). It chronicles the 1892 kinds of drugs (374 kinds of new Li), divided into 60 categories, to close 1892 kinds of medicine, with more than 11,096 prescriptions. Is set in the 16th century, the culmination of Pharmacy achievement, starting from the 17th century, the "Compendium of Materia Medica" after another has been translated into five countries, including Germany, Britain, France, Russia and other text. 《Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China》, published in 1953, collected a total of 531 kinds of modern drugs and preparations.There are over 100 kinds of drugs and preparations from "Compendium of Materia Medica". British biologist Charles Darwin called the 《Compendium of Materia Medica》''The encyclopedia of 1596".
