Detail
"The biggest software advance for writers since the word processor."
- Best-selling novelist Michael Marshall Smith
Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers designed for composing and structuring long and difficult documents. While it gives you complete control of the formatting, its focus is on getting you to the end of that awkward first draft.
Compose your text in any order and in pieces as large or small as you like. View the components of your draft individually or as a whole. Import and refer to research files such as images and PDFs alongside your writing.
Whether you prefer to outline first, hammer out your first draft and restructure later, or do a bit of both, Scrivener's corkboard and outliner tools are completely integrated with the text, so working with an overview of your draft is just a click away.
Scrivener's users include best-selling novelists, screenwriters, students, academics, lawyers, journalists and translators.

@noblondgirl I do know that Scrivener, while not free, offers a trial period. Sadly, I don't know much about what's out there for Mac. :(

@noblondgirl Oooh, do you use Scrivener? If I ever go Mac, I will be purchasing that one. But WriteWay has been AWESOME for me. :D

Wish I had a Mac! I ADORE Scrivener but it looks like there are so many more features that I could use on a Mac.I love the deadline feature!

@scrivener Would I be able to use my Mac serial number for my PC laptop too?

I wish I had a working Mac, so that I could use the Scrivener license I already paid for.

Had grabbed a copy of Scrivener from the Mac app store. Really looking forward to getting my writing organised. This app looks the biz!

@novaren With the new update on Scrivener mine balks at opening the Mac files...but there is a workaround. Want me to email?

Last night tried to install Scrivener on the Netbook. Finally got it to work... Except it won't open any of my files from my Mac. Lovely.

@vivschwarz To my knowledge, Scrivener is Mac and Windows only. Guess you can WINE it; can't be as fussy as a Hackintosh.

@Kesskisspass Hello. It is planned. It's in the pipeline for both Scrivener on the Mac and Windows. :-) All the best, DJ.

Richard, LOVE Scrivener. It's been my best friend since I bought my Mac a few years back. It's helped me immensely. #sffwrtcht

@sacredtechs @drjewest Trying to use both fonts in a research paper-using either word or or scrivener. I am using Mac OS 10.7.4 Lion.

@jakebible It's a Mac only software and its half off today, but I like the cut if Scrivener's jib better.
