Detail
Filerr detects file names on your Mac with characters that are not supported by other non-Mac computers, non-Mac formatted USB drives or cloud services such as Dropbox and Jungle Disk. These file names include:
* File names containing the characters / : * ? " < > |
* File names beginning with space " "
These file names are typically created when dragging hyperlinks from a web browser, and can cause lots of issues when copying large folder structures to other computers or online cloud services. In some cases these files are copied but with the wrong file name, in other cases these files cannot be copied at all!
Filerr runs as a menu bar icon under Mac OSX that informs you immediately when such file names are created. You can choose what folders Filerr should watch, and if Filerr should ignore any folders. You can also choose if Filerr should automatically color tag incompatible file names so they are easier to find in the Finder.
